Mortar joints are sacrificial by design: they weather so the brick doesn't. In Toronto's climate, joints typically need attention every 25 to 40 years. Once they recede, crack or wash out, water gets behind the brick and the damage stops being cosmetic.

We grind out the failed joints to proper depth, then repoint with mortar matched in strength, colour and profile, which matters enormously on older homes where modern hard mortar can actually crack soft historic brick. If units are already damaged, we fold brick repair into the same visit.
