Repair them with modern Portland cement and hard brick, and the wall starts eating itself: the new material wins every freeze-thaw cycle and the original brick pays for it. Half the heritage damage we restore was caused by a previous repair.
We restore heritage masonry the way it was built: matched reclaimed brick, lime-based mortars mixed to the original strength, joint profiles tooled to the period, and arches, headers and corbelling rebuilt to drawings rather than approximated.
